A man tragically lost his life during an accident at the intersection of Garsfontein Road and Netcare Road in Moreleta Park, Pretoria this evening.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a motorcycle had crashed against a vehicle at the intersection outside the Netcare Pretoria East Hospital. The motorcycle crashed against the driver door of the vehicle.
The roadway was scattered with debris from the motorcycle. Upon assessment of the thirty-one-year-old motorcyclist, paramedics found that the man had died prior to their arrival due to the extensive injuries sustained during the crash. There was nothing further that could be done for the man and sadly he was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured during the crash.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the crash and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
