At least five people were injured this morning during protests at the Roodepoort Primary School, West of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found a number of public on the scene as well as heavy SAPS presence.
On assessment, paramedics found that at least five people had sustained minor to moderate injuries due to what was reported to paramedics as rubber bullets, although it cannot be reported.
The patients were immediately removed to a staging area away from the protests and treated for their injuries.
Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby facilities for further treatment.
Local authorities are on scene for safety and investigations.
