Sixteen in taxi collision, Polokwane

Sixteen people were injured this morning after a taxi rolled multiple times on the R101 in Polokwane, Limpopo.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, responded to the scene and found the taxi upright on the side of the road.

On assessment, paramedics found that 16 people, including five children aged from 18 weeks to nine years, had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Paramedics set out treating the patients for their injuries before they were transported to various hospitals for further treatment.

The taxi driver later told paramedics that he had lost control of the vehicle after the tyre had burst.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
