Two people died and four others sustained minor to moderate injuries in a collision between a bike and an SUV just outside Newcastle on Allen Road before the N11 bridge.
When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found a man and a woman lying next to the bike and SUV.
Both of them, who were riding on the bike and believed to be in their 40’s, were assessed. They were found to have sustained multiple injuries.
Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for them. They were declared dead.
The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries and the passengers in the vehicle sustained moderate injuries. They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
The exact cause of the collision is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
