A 37-year-old man was arrested yesterday at Ivory Park after a chase with police. It is alleged that the suspect and his friends hijacked a Ford Ranger at the robots in Kaalfontein. They put on a blue light and pulled the driver of the road and pointed him with a firearm. One suspect drove the vehicle that they hijacked. The other three fled in their getaway car.
A look-out was given and olice spotted the vehicle at Republic Road in Ivory Park and chased the them into a culdesac street in Kaalfontein. the suspects abandoned the vehicle on the street and fled in different directions. Police arrested one suspect.
Members recovered two sports bags with three fire-arms; R5 rifle with 25 rounds of ammunition, model 75 pistol with 25 live rounds of ammunition, z88 with12 rounds ammunition, 6 channel jamming devices, two police reflector jacket, gloves and cables.
