Four injured in taxi collision in Newcastle

Four people were injured this morning after a taxi and truck collided on the N11 near the Albert Wessels Drive in Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics along with Metro services, arrived on scene and found both the taxi and truck parked in the one lane of the road. The driver’s side door of the taxi had been completely ripped open in the collision.

On assessment, paramedics found that four of the five occupants from the taxi had sustained only minor injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Madadeni Hospital for further treatment.

It is believed that the two vehicles collided after the taxi had apparently attempted a u-turn in the road.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
