Three men were shot this morning following a shootout on the N12 before the Jet Park turn-off in Benoni.
ER24 paramedics were called to scene by local authorities.
On arrival, paramedics found three men lying around a light motor vehicle which had parked on the side of the road.
Assessments showed that all three men had sustained numerous gunshot wounds and were in a critical condition.
Paramedics set out treating the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions.
Once treated, they were transported to Thembisa Hospital for urgent treatment.
The cause of the shooting is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
