A side impact accident at the traffic lights along Richmond Rd under the M13 has left five people injured this afternoon at around 17h11. Reports indicate that the taxi had come from the M13 and collided into the side of a vehicle travelling along Richmond Road, one of the vehicles then veered onto the side walk and collided with two pedestrians.
Netcare 911 paramedics and their rescue unit arrived at the scene and found the intersection obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles. After triaging the injured, it was found that one person had sustained serious injuries while four escaped with minor injuries. After medics treated the injured at the scene, they transported them to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
