Seven-year-old fighting for his life after being hit by a bakkie

A seven-year-old boy is fighting for his life after he was hit by a bakkie along Fisher Road in Waterfall. Reports indicate that the child was crossing the road to go to school at Waterfall collage when he landed in front of the vehicle.

Netcare 911 paramedics their rescue unit and the Provincial ambulance services arrived at the scene and found the child lying on the roadway with life threatening injuries. Paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the child  and after he was placed on a ventilator, they airlifted him to a hospital in Durban for the care that he required.
