A baby boy believed to be six weeks old was airlifted to hospital after sustaining critical injuries in a collision between a bakkie and car on the N14 in Diepsloot earlier this afternoon.
A six-week-old baby boy also sustained moderate injuries and four other people sustained minor injuries during the collision.
It is understood the bakkie rolled and the babies as well as their mothers were ejected.
When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they assessed and treated the patients.
The six-week-old baby was airlifted by the ER24 medical helicopter to hospital for further medical care.
All other patients were transported to hospital by ambulance.
The exact cause of the collision is unknown.
