Three injured in taxi collision 30km outside Newcastle

Three people were injured last night after a taxi overturned on the Memel Road, 30 km outside of Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found that three people had sustained minor injuries after a taxi collided with an embankment and overturned on its side.

It is understood that the taxi had swerved to avoid large rocks that lay in the road, when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

It is understood that most of the patients had left the scene privately to seek medical attention.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
