17 people were injured this morning when a taxi and a bakkie collided and rolled on the R707 about 15km out of Marquard in the Free State.
ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found both vehicles on the side of the road.
Patients were lying alongside the road.
Paramedics assessed the patients, two from the bakkie and the rest from the taxi, and found that they sustained minor to serious injuries.
The patients were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
