KZN Transport MEC lashes out at criminals who broke in at Umbilo licencing station

The MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mr. Willies Mchunu, has lashed out at the greedy criminals who broke in at the Umbilo licencing station over the weekend.

The thieves stole stole computers at the Umbilo Licencing station, rendering it non-operational.

“It is quite disturbing to note the extent of the greed and audacity of the thieves, who show no care about plundering the services of the nation. Because of their nefarious work, the Umbilo Motor Licencing station will not be operational until further notice.”

“We urge the affected members of the public using the station to be patient, and advice that they go to nearby stations including in Pinetown to get assistance with licencing services. Furthermore, we wish to appeal to anyone who has information regarding this incident to come forward and work with the police to ensure that the culprits are apprehended with speed,” said Mchunu, who visited the Umbilo Licencing station to inspect the damage.
