A man in his 50s sustained serious injuries this morning after he fell off his motorbike at the Loop and Commercial Road intersection in Pietermaritzburg.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene, and on arrival, found the patient lying on the side of the road next to his motorbike.
Paramedics assessed the patient and found that he had sustained serious injuries to his leg.
The patient was treated by paramedics and thereafter transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
It is understood that the wet road were a contributing factor to the incident.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
