One person has been killed and one person has sustained serious injuries after a head on collision on the N3 North Bound before Richmond Road just after 4pm yesterday.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on scene to find carnage. A vehicle travelling on the south bound carriageway somehow ended up on the north bound carriageway and collided head on with a vehicle before colliding with a third vehicle. The one driver had unfortunately passed away before paramedics arrived, he was entrapped in the wreckage and had to be cut free by the Durban Fire Department. The other driver sustained serious injuries and was stabilized by Rescue Care Paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required.
The details surrounding the collision are unknown however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
