Man killed in Kemptonpark collision

A man died and another sustained moderate injuries after their vehicle collided with a tree near the intersection of Gladiator and Albetros Streets in Kempton Park.

At approximately 2am this morning, paramedics from ER24 were called to the scene where they found one of the occupants several meters away from the vehicle. Another occupant was also found a few meters away from the vehicle and being assessed by local provincial emergency services. He sustained moderate injuries and was transported to hospital. The other occupant was in a critical condition and paramedics had to initiate advanced life support in order to stabilise him on the scene.

Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

The critically injured occupant was rushed off to Sunshine Hospital. Shortly after his arrival at hospital his condition severely deteriorated. Despite the efforts of paramedics and doctors he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the incident.
