A twenty year old man has been seriously injured after losing control of his vehicle on Mimosa Road, in Redhill this evening.
Reports from the scene indicate the man lost control of his Volkswagen at high speed, colliding with the concrete support structure of the overhead railway bridge.
Crisis Medical paramedics arrived on scene to find the man still in his vehicle having sustained serious injuries.
Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize him before he was placed onto a specialized stretcher for suspected neck and spinal cord injuries and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.
The local authorities were on scene and will investigate the incident further.
