This evening at 18h44 Netcare 911 paramedics were called to a head-on collision on the N12 about 20 Km from Potchefstroom. Exact detail to the cause of the collision will remain a subject for the South African Police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the crumpled remains of a bakkie had come to rest on the verge, the wreckage of the other vehicle was found across the Johannesburg bound lane of the highway.
After medics examined the injured at the scene, the found that one person tragically died, one was critically injured, two sustained serious injuries while two miraculously escaped uninjured. Medics airlifted the critically injured patient to a specialised hospital in Gauteng while the other patients were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment.
