13 seriously injured in Durban taxi crash

Thirteen people have been injured, one seriously so after four vehicles collided on the N3 West Bound near Spaghetti Junction around 16:30 yesterday.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that three lanes of the national freeway blocked by the accident scene. Paramedics found that one passenger was entrapped in the front of the taxi whilst multiple others were on the side of the freeway. More ambulances were called to assist as well as Advanced Life Support units. Once all thirteen patients had been stabilized on scene by Paramedics and SAPS Search and Rescue officials they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating further.
