Just after 10pm last night EMER-G-MED paramedics responded to reports of a serious collision on the N14 highway between the R55 and the R511, in Centurion.
On arrival paramedics found that two vehicles and two pedestrians had been involved in the collision and both vehicles had rolled.
Unfortunately one driver and one pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead on the scene.
The other driver and a passenger were left with very critical injuries. Advanced Life Support care was initiated with both patients being placed on Life Support. The Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter was called in to airlift the critical patients to a nearby specialist trauma hospital for further management.
Two other passengers and the second pedestrian sustained moderate injuries and were treated on-scene before being transported by road to a nearby facility for further care.
The events leading up to the collision are unknown and will be investigated by local authorities.
