Eight commuters have been left injured, among them five children, in a collision involving two light motor vehicles at the intersection of Inanda Road and Briardale Road in Newlands this afternoon.

Crisis Medical paramedics along with members of other emergency services arrived on the scene shortly after 3:30pm, to find a bakkie had collided in a T-bone fashion with a Toyota Condor transporting school children.

Five children suffered minor injuries while three adults were left with injuries ranging from minor to serious, with one man requiring advanced life support intervention to stabilize him on scene.
