A man was killed in a freak accident on Essex Terrace in Westville, Durban earlier this afternoon.
A local resident was traveling in his car on Essex Terrace when a large tree fell on top of his Peugeot. It is believed that tree fellers were busy cutting down trees on the side of the road when the incident occurred.
Paramedics from ER24 that arrived on the scene found the man still trapped inside of his vehicle. Sadly, there was nothing that they could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene.
Police were called to the scene and cordoned off the scene to conduct an investigation into the matter.
