One person died and two were injured in a collision between a truck and car late last night on the R26 about 20km from Bethlehem heading towards Reitz.
When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found a badly damaged car in the middle of the road. The truck was in the field alongside the road.
Paramedics found a man trapped in the car. Upon assessment it was found that he sustained multiple injuries. Sadly there was nothing that could be done for him. He had succumbed to his injuries.
Two men were found seated in the truck. Upon assessment by paramedics it was found that they sustained moderate injuries.
They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
