Pedestrian killed in apparent Vanderbijlpark hit-and-run

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed this morning after he was hit by a light motor vehicle on the R57 in Vanderbijlpark.

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene by SAPS.

On arrival, paramedics found the lifeless body of the man lying in the middle of the one lane.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that he had sustained fatal injuries to his head and showed no signs of life.

Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead on scene.

The driver of the light motor vehicle was not found on scene.

Local authorities will be investigating this further.
