Woman dies, children injured on R33, Albert Falls

One woman died and three children were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the R33, Albert Falls, this morning.

It is understood that the children were being transported to school when the incident occurred.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the vehicle had rolled and landed on its roof at the bottom of an embankment.

Two boys and a girl, estimated to be between the ages of seven and 12, were assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries.

Upon assessment of the woman who was found lying near the car it was found that she was in a critical condition.

The woman’s vital signs deteriorated.

Despite all efforts by paramedics to save her, the woman, believed to be in her 40’s, succumbed to her injuries.

The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
