Yesterday afternoon at 2.32pm EMER-G-MED’s RV6, M07, A02, A03 and A11 responded to reports of a mass casualty taxi crash on the M1 South at the Grayston Drive offramp, in Wynberg.
It’s reported by witnesses that a SUV missed the offramp, cutting infront of the taxi to take ìt. The taxi driver tried to avoid a collision by swerving, but unfortunately collided with a taxi, the SUV and a barrier.
11 people sustained minor to moderate injuries, with one patient requiring Advanced Life Support care.
The patients were treated on-scene before being transported to various nearby facilities for further care.
Local authorities were on-scene to investigate the events leading up to the collision.
