A woman was killed and another seriously injured this evening when their vehicle rolled multiple times on the R26 Fouriesburg Road in Bethlehem.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene to find the light motor vehicle lying upright in the veld, some distance away from the road.
The body of an elderly woman was found lying a few metres away from the vehicle while the second woman lay inside the vehicle.
On assessment, paramedics found that the elderly woman had already succumbed to her multiple injuries when she was ejected from the vehicle.
Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patient and she was declared dead on scene.
The second woman was found in the vehicle in a serious condition.
Paramedics carefully extricated the woman from the vehicle and began their treatment.
Once treated, the patient was transported to a hospital in Bethlehem for further treatment.
The cause of the incident is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
