Man jumps off bridge and lands in cemetery while trying to escape riot

An ongoing riot in Warwick, Durban, has left at least two people injured. The riot is believed to involve taxi drivers and the area around Warwick junction and cemetery is still volatile and people are advised to stay clear of the area. ER24 responded to an incident where a person sustained a gun shot wound to the face.

ER24 paramedics treated and transported the patient to Addington Hospital for further treatment. Another person allegedly jumped off a bridge and landed in the Warwick general cemetery in an attempt to escape the riot and sustained moderate injuries including fractures. He was then transported by another medical service to hospital for further treatment. Local authorities are on scene.
