A man believed to be in his late twenties has been killed when a light motor vehicle struck him on the N2 national highway, in the vicinity of Asherville area this morning.
Crisis Medical paramedics arrived on the scene to find the man lying in the roadway having sustained fatal head injuries. He was declared dead on arrival.
Unconfirmed reports from the scene suggest the man was allegedly running on the roadway naked when the vehicle struck him, however the exact facts are unknown at present.
The scene was handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation.
