A fourteen-year-old boy is in a critical condition after he was hit by a taxi on Louis Botha Avenue in Houghton, Johannesburg.
Reports from the scene indicate that the boy who was on his way to school was hit and dragged for about 18 meters by the taxi.
Netcare911 paramedics arrived on scene and managed to stabilise the boy who was found to be critically injured.
He has been transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
