Six injured in collision following alleged aftermath of protests

Six people were injured in a collision between a bakkie and a truck on the K43 near Boundary in Eldorado Park early this morning.

It is understood that the vehicles collided head on at a blind rise. It is believed that the drivers tried to avoid a steel road barrier that was apparently thrown on the road by people during overnight protests.

On arrival at the scene ER24 paramedics found rocks on the road and Fire and Rescue extinguishing burning tyres.

The patients involved in the collision were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.

They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care. The road was closed to traffic.

Authorities are on scene monitoring the situation.
