Taxi T-bones truck injuring 14, Hammersdale

14 people were left injured this morning after a taxi t-bone a truck on the Hammersdale Main Road in KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics, along with provincial services, arrived on scene at 08h05 this morning and found a truck and taxi in the middle of the intersection. Occupants from the taxi were found seated on the nearby pavement.

On inspection, paramedics found the driver of the taxi lying trapped inside his vehicle. Rescue officers from the provincial services had to use specialised rescue equipment to free the patient.

Once freed, paramedics treated all 14 patients for their injuries.

10 patients were transported by ER24 while four were transported by provincial services. All the patients were transported to various hospitals for further treatment.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
