6 Hurt in 3 car pile up near Edwin Swales in Durban

 

Six people have been injured including a young baby after three vehicles collided on the M4 North bound near Edwin Swales in Durban just after 9pm.

Rescue Care Paramedics and Paramedics from the Durban University of Technology arrived on the scene to find that three vehicles had collided before one vehicle with a family of three including a baby had overturned coming to rest on its roof. Two people were severely entrapped in the wreckage and Paramedics used hydraulic equipment to free them. Once all of the injured had been extricated and stabilised on scene they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required. The busy freeway was closed whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating further.
