Four injured in minor train collision near Heidelberg

Four people were injured this morning after a minor train collision near the R23 in Balfour, 20km outside of Heidelberg in Gauteng.

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene to assist with the injured.

It is believed that the one good carriage bumped harshly into the locomotive while on route.

On arrival, paramedics found that four occupants had been injured in this incident. Fortunately, the injuries that were sustained were only minor injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to a private hospital for further treatment.

An investigation into this incident with be investigated by local authorities.
