Two men were lucky to escape serious injury when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the N3 in Merrivale between Hilton and Howick, at around midnight.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the vehicle on its roof on the slow lane of the road.
A man understood to be the driver, believed to be in his late 30’s to early 40’s, was found walking around on scene. He was uninjured.
A man believed to be in his 70’s and a passenger in the vehicle was seated next to the road on an embankment.
Upon assessment it was found that he sustained moderate injuries. He was treated and transported to the Northdale Hospital for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
