Pedestrian killed in collision, Inchanga

A woman in her 60s was killed this afternoon when she was hit by a light motor vehicle on the R103 in Inchanga, Durban.

ER24 paramedics were called the to the scene by the local authorities.

On arrival, paramedics found the body of the elderly patients lying in the middle of the road. The light motor vehicle that had collided with the woman had stopped on the side of the road.

On assessment of the patient, paramedics found that she had sustained serious injuries and showed no signs of life.

Paramedics immediately initiated CPR and provided the patient with advanced life support. Unfortunately, after 30 minutes, no signs of life returned and she was declared dead on scene.

The driver of the vehicle was questioned on scene by local authorities.
