Several injured in minibus rollover near Hammarsdale

Nine patients have been injured when a minibus overturned on Umsunduzi road, near the police station in the Hammarsdale area.

Paramedics from the Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services attended to the scene and treated one patient who had sustained critical injuries, three people who had serious injuries.  Five patients had only sustained minor injuries.

The injured patients, once stabilised at the scene, were transported to hospitals in Durban and Pietermaritzburg by paramedics from KZN EMS and a private ambulance service, for continued medical care.

The exact cause of the crash in not known at this stage and will be investigated by the police.
