Woman injured following hit-and-run in Witpoortjie

A 35-year-old woman was left injured this morning following a hit-and-run at the Penny and Trezona Avenue intersection in Witpoortjie, west of Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the patient and scooter lying on the side of the road.

It was reported that the patient was knocked off her scooter in the intersection. The vehicle then apparently drove off without stopping.

On assessment, paramedics discovered that the 35-year-old woman had sustained injuries to her pelvis.

The patient was treated for her injuries and was thereafter transported to a hospital in Krugersdorp for further treatment.

Local authorities will be investigating this incident further.
