A woman, believed to be in her 30s, was killed this evening after she was hit by a truck on the N3 New England Off-ramp in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics were called to te scene by the local security forces that were on the scene.
On arrival, paramedics found the body of the woman lying on the side of the road down the off-ramp.
On inspection of the body, paramedics found that the woman had already succumbed to her multiple fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for the patient and she was declared dead on scene.
The driver of the truck fortunately did not sustain any injuries.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
