Fifteen people have been injured after a taxi collided with a truck on Zuurfontein Avenue (M39) and corner Oranjerivier Drive in Kempton Park.
Reports from the scene indicate that the taxi slammed into the back of the truck.
The exact detail to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
When Netcare911 paramedics and other services arrived on scene, we found that fifteen people had sustained injuries varying from serious to moderate.
The Netcare2 helicopter was dispatched to the scene to airlift a critically injured man to a Johannesburg hospital for further medical care.
All injured were stabilised on scene before they were transported by ambulance to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.
No one from the truck sustained any injuries.
