At 08h02 on Tuesday morning Netcare 911 paramedics received a call for a pedestrian crash along Kingsway Road in Amanzimtoti. Reports indicate that a Life Guard on his way to work tried to run across the road in front of the Virgin Active Gym when he landed in front of a vehicle.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the man had slid across the bonnet of the vehicle and smashed the windshield with his head and arms. Medics stabilised the seriously injured man at the scene before they transported him to a nearby hospital for the care that he required.
