At 00h06 on Saturday morning Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision at the intersection of Chris Hani and North coast Road in Durban. Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle with only the driver veered off the roadway and crashed through a fence.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the driver had sustained serious injuries. Medics stabilised the man at the scene and after immobilising him on a trauma board, they transported him to a hospital in Durban under the constant care of an Advanced Life Support paramedic.
