Five injured when bakkie crashes into wall, Hout Bay

Five people were injured this afternoon when a bakkie crashed into a wall on Orange Road in Hout Bay in the Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found that a bakkie and trailer had crashed into a residence wall. The trailer had been filled with refuse from a cut down tree.

It was found that five men had been on the back of the bakkie when it collided into the wall.

On assessment, paramedics found that all five men had sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were found.

Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to Victoria Hospital for further assessment.

The driver later told paramedics that the brakes had apparently failed, causing the vehicle to crash.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
