A man in his 20s sustained moderate injuries this morning when he his hit by a train near the Cliffdale Station in Shongwene in KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the platform and were told by officials that the patient lay further down the tracks.
Upon arrival, paramedics found the man lying just a few meters away from the train.
The man was assessed and found to have escaped serious harm, sustaining only moderate injuries to his arms and head.
The patient was treated for his and thereafter transported to RK Khan Hospital for further treatment.
Fortunately, no-one from the train sustained any injuries.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
