Richmond farm shooting has left one man dead and another critically injured

A shooting incident on a farm in the Richmond area of Kwa-Zulu Natal has left one man dead and another critically injured.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the farm just off the rural road. A security company ushered paramedics into the residence where they found a man in his 70s lying on the couch with a gunshot wound to his chest. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on scene.

A second man, aged 70, was also found on scene with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.

Treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately performed on the patient to stabilise his vital signs. Once treated, the patient was transported to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for urgent treatment.

The details surrounding the incident are not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
