Seven injured in taxi collision in Woodmead

Seven people have been injured this morning after a collision between a taxi and a bakkie on the corners of Maxwell Drive and Old Pretoria Main Road in Woodmead – north of Johannesburg.

Just before 7am EMER-G-MED’s M06, A03 and A06 were dispatched to the scene, arriving to find that a taxi had T-boned a bakkie – leaving it heavily damaged. It is alleged that the bakkie turned in front of the taxi causing the collision.

On assessment paramedics found that a total of seven people had been injured, with one of the patients requiring Advanced Life Support care. Once stabilised on-scene the patients were transported to various nearby hospitals for further medical care.

Local authorities were on-scene to investigate further.
