One man was killed and another seriously injured this morning after a shooting incident that took place in the parking of a mall on the R42 in the Vaal.
AT 03h20 this morning, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene after receiving the emergency call of the shooting.
Upon arrival, paramedics found a security vehicle in the parking area surrounded by a number of Police officials.
On closer inspection, paramedics found the driver of the vehicle lying motionless in his vehicle with a gunshot wound to his head. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his fatal injury and was declared dead on the scene.
A second man was found lying outside the vehicle. The man was assessed and found to have sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder and was in a serious condition.
ER24 and Provincial paramedics immediately began their treatment and provided the patient with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the man was transported by Provincial services to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The exact details surrounding the shooting is not yet known but is subject to the investigation of local authorities.
