Last night at about 18h02, Netcare911 paramedics responded to an accident where a light motor vehicle had overturned on the R28 near the Silver Star Casino direction Pretoria in Krugersdorp.
Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle hit a barrier and overturned.
Towing services were on scene, they assisted paramedics to keep the vehicle from rolling down the mountain.
Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside other services on scene to try and extricate the female passenger who was still trapped in the vehicle.
After a few hours with the aid of the Krugersdorp Fire Department and Netcare911 Rescue 1 vehicle, the woman was freed and found to be in a critical condition.
She was transported by Netcare911 paramedics to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries, he was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital as well.
