A thirty-nine-year-old beggar is in a critical condition after he was struck by a light motor vehicle opposite the Pretoria East Hospital on the Garsfontein Road and Netcare road in Pretoria.
Reports from the scene indicate that the man was crossing the road when the accident happened.
Netcare911 paramedics managed to stabilise the critically injured man on scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
The man was also intubated by paramedics in a bid to assist him to breathe.
This accident happened this morning at about 06h10.
