Collision leaves two pedestrians injured, Krugersdorp

Three people were injured this afternoon after a taxi collided with a light motor vehicle, causing it to spin and crash into two pedestrians at the Van Riebeek and Buiten Road Intersection in Krugersdorp.

Paramedics from the ER24 Johannesburg West Branch arrived on the scene and found both vehicles in the middle of the road. Both pedestrians had been flung through the air and were found a short distance away from the road.

On assessment, paramedics discovered that both pedestrians, a boy and girl believed to be 17-years-old, had sustained moderate injuries. The driver of the light motor vehicle was also assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries.

Paramedics treated all three patients and thereafter transported them to Krugersdorp and Laratong Hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the taxi fortunately escaped injury.

It is understood that the taxi collided with the light motor vehicle, causing it to crash into the pedestrians.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
